Stainless steel is used when a fan needs to withstand moisture, corrosion, salty air or certain aggressive conditions, or when good cleanability is important. We supply stainless steel fans in, among others, AISI 304 and AISI 316.

The right material choice depends on more than just the surrounding environment. The medium being conveyed, temperature, humidity, possible exposure to chlorides and other process conditions also play an important role.
That is why we look at the complete application and specification, rather than selecting a fan based on material alone.
Not all stainless steel is the same. The most common grades within our range are AISI 304 and AISI 316.
AISI 304 is a widely used stainless steel grade for general applications where good corrosion resistance is required. It is commonly used in industrial environments, food processing and general applications involving moisture.
AISI 316 contains molybdenum, which provides increased resistance to certain types of corrosion, including corrosion in chloride-containing environments. AISI 316 can therefore be particularly suitable for certain marine, saline and chemical applications.
The choice between AISI 304 and AISI 316 should always be based on the specific application. AISI 316 is not suitable for every chemical or corrosive environment either.
